Father's Day Fun

Father's Day was such a fabulous and relaxing day.  Joe said that all he wanted to do was just be with the family and have no expectation.  So, that's just what we did!  First thing that morning I told Quincey that she had to be extra nice to papa cause it was his special day and, at 6:30 in the morning she heard the name papa and booked it upstairs to the bedroom to wake him up.  Not what I had in mind but, she was awfully excited to see him and was a daddy's girl all day.

Happy father's day to the best daddy Quincey could have!  We love you something crazy!!!!

Goldbug Goldbug and MORE Goldbug!

Auntie Dessa gave Quincey a book for her birthday.  It's a Richard Scary book called Cars, Trucks, and Things That Go with big pages and a bunch of busy pictures all over the pages.  I remember when I would visit Jackson and read the kids books before bed and I always dreaded reading the Richard Scary books because they have like 40 pages and so much on all the pages.  It just seemed to take forever until I figured out I could just read some of it.  They are actually called "point and look books" because that's exactly what you're supposed to do.  They are designed more for pointing and talking about things then actually reading the entire story.

Anyhow, Dessa got this book for Quincey and it didn't take long for it to become her favorite book.  Gone are the days of simple books like Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See?

Literally, for a couple months now, Quincey totes this book all over the house and constantly brings it to our lap.  There is this little gold bug hidden on each page named Goldbug and you're supposed to find him on the pages.  Of course Quincey knows where goldbug is on every page.  It's really quite incredible.  I can't find him on half the pages but you flip to that page and she will immediately point him out.  And, we have read the book so much that she knows where Mistress Mouse is, the Pig Family, Dingo Dog, and Officer Floosy on all the pages as well.  She just absolutely loves this book!  I had an idea to take a picture EVERY SINGLE TIME she brought the book and send it to Dessa so she could see the addiction she had caused but would be just too much :)  It was a good idea though!

Her is Quincey with her goldbug book.

Some of My Favorite Pictures

Over the last few months we haven't done anything very exciting (except Grace's 40th birthday) besides just enjoying each other and of course I have snapped tons of pictures of Quincey.  Here are some of my favorites....

Quincey Finally Goes to a Restraunt

It may not have been anything fancy but for the first time Quincey out to eat.  We were tasked with taking the car in to get fixed and while we waited, we ventured over to Chipolte's for some lunch.  As always, she was such a good girl; both at the auto repair shop and at lunch.  We were there for hours and she just wondered around entertaining herself.

Our Trip to Chiricahua Mountains

Auntie Grace turned 40!!!! What an old Auntie!  And, for her birthday she wanted us sisters to take a trip to the Chiricahua Mountains to hike them.  She has been planning long before she turned 40.  In fact, I remember when she was here for the birth of Quincey and she was talking about it.  It seemed like it was such a far ways off but, before we knew it, the time to head to Arizona was among us.  First, the Logan's arrived for a night.  We had such a great evening.  I just can't get enough of my family.  I absolutely love hosting them and I love it when they come.  We had a great time visiting.  And, although it was months after Grace's actual birthday, I got her a cake.

The next morning we hit the road.  Quincey was such a trooper.  She didn't cry once the whole way there.  We stopped in Hatch, New Mexico for lunch and I must say, that stop was probably one of my favorite parts of the whole trip.  We all stood in a long line outside in the stifling heat to order famous green chili cheeseburgers from the most popular joint in town.  And, it was worth it!  I just loved being with my family on, what felt like, our first real family vacation.  I mean, we were wearing ABSOLUTELY NO MASKS!!!!  It was like the world was normal again.  Auntie Dessa met us at our Airbnb and we had another birthday celebration.

Quincey got her fill of snuggles, that's for sure!  Those aunties and uncles of hers sure do love her!

And then we were off to our big hike!  It was so fun and such an adventure.  Quincey fell asleep in her hiking pack but only for like a half hour.  Besides that, she was wide awake the entire time and was such a good girl!  I was one proud mama.  We were tired.  Like really tired after the hike and Joe and I didn't even do the whole thing because we had Quincey.  We ventured back to the airbnb and were quickly asleep.

Our last day there Joe found a beautiful waterfall for us to play in.  Everyone else went back up the mountain to hike some more but we thought Quincey would enjoy playing in the woods instead.  It was such a great little spot that we brought the rest of the crew back that night.

Another of my favorites was hanging outside our Airbnb with the kids each night.  I just love these three so darn much.

It was all over so quick!  I could spend weeks on end with my family.  In fact, wouldn't it be great to all just live in a cul de sac together!  One can dream. :)

Happy 2nd Birthday to Our Baby!

From baby to toddler went by waaaayyy too fast.  Like a blink of the eye, our little baby princess is a little toddler.  And she is so darn...
