Quincey's First Christmas

Quincey's first Christmas was GREAT!  We created lots of traditions that we hope she will come to love.  We lugged her into the cold snow covered mountains to cut down a tree, we opened up a Christmas Eve present, and the day of Christmas we opened up presents, I made a big turkey dinner (she loved the green bean casserole).  Joe made created a new tradition of making a pecan pie and it was amazing.  We made sure to just really enjoy the day and throw all the expectations out the window.  We never even got out of our pajamas.  It was such a nice relaxing day.

Quincey opened up her peek-a-boo koala bear on Christmas eve.  She absolutely loved it and couldn't stop giggling at it.

She got lots of fun presents on Christmas Day that she just loved but some of her definate favorites... Her Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See? from Auntie Dessa for sure.  Every day we have to read it half a dozen times.  I try to read a different one but she crawls out of my lap and sits by the Brown  Bear book waiting for me to pick it up and read it to her again.  It's pretty cute to see her personality and start to show preferences.

She also got this sweet little figurine from Auntie Grace who says that she's going to get her one every  year for 18 years so she has a collection of them.  I know Quincey is going to love that!

She also really likes her hippo with balls.  You put the balls in the belly of the hippo and they bounce all over the place.  Quincey is very in to balls lately.  She loves to chase them around the house so this was a total hit.

She also got this little duck from her grandma Mary that she loves but is scared to touch.  She watches it quick and spin around in circles in complete awe but isn't quite sure about touching it just yet.  She'll chase a vacuum cleaner around the house but won't touch the quacking little duck.

It was a great Christmas.  What a blessing to celebrate the birth of Christ with our first baby.  She is the perfect gift.

No No Quinney... No No

Quincey has found a new thing she likes to do... stick her hands in the toilet water and put toys in the toilet water.  So, now we have to remember to put down the toilet seats.  Little stinker!  Thus far we have only found one of her toy fish floating in the toilet and have only had to wash her dripping toilet water hands a couple times but, any time that toilet seat is left up, she seems to know it and find it!

She also figured out how to unroll the toilet paper and thinks it's pretty cool as well.

Just Eating Some Steak With Her Papa

She loathes her baby food and having to eat it but is totally up to eat anything off of our plates.  So, papa shared his steak with her.  She also loves poking her food with one finger before eating it which happens to be pretty cute!

Quincey Crawls DOWN Stairs... Kinda

As soon as Quincey learned how to crawl, she learned how to climb stairs.  Which, is a good thing considering we have lots of stairs in our house.

But, learning to crawl down them hasn't come as easily for her.  We show her how to turn around and go back down the stairs but, she insists on going down face first.  However, she only goes does the first step face first and then flips around and goes down the rest correctly.  It's pretty cute to watch and so interesting that she came up with this way.  No one showed her it but she refuses to go down the first step backwards.  Look at this series of pictures and you will see exactly how she does it.

Quincey Turns Nine Months Old!

For nine months I grew this little bug in my belly (well, actually 9 months and 4 days) and for nine months now she has been out of my belly!

I must say, it's much funner having her out than it was having her in but, it's also A LOT more work.

I know I've said this before but we just can't get enough of her.  This month she has learned how to stand up and, although she hasn't taken her first step yet, she will stand there forever!  She loves to stand with a toy or clothing in her hand and swing it all over the place all while screaming.  Yes, that's the other thing she has learned this month, that her voice has different volume levels and, although she hasn't used it negatively, the sounds in our home have intensified!

She loves to have either papa or mama on the floor crawling with her.  She thinks it's the funnest thing to crawl around together like a little wolf pack.  My knees have bruises from being on the floor with her.

Other things she loves... Baby Einstein.  When all else fails, Baby Einstein saves the day!... Crawling into bed with mama and papa in the morning, going on her daily walks with mama, chasing the vacuum cleaner, getting in the pool (hot tub), playing in the bath tub, watching the washing machine, and crawling up stairs, oh, and she loves being naked!  She thinks it's the coolest thing to get to crawl around in her birthday suit and really gets silly when she's crawling around naked!

She still isn't the biggest fan of eating unless Baby Einstein is on to distract her, nor does she like to take her naps although she falls asleep great and sleeps much longer than she used to.  She really doesn't like going in the car either.  This is likely a side effect to rarely going anywhere due to Covid.  I don't think she ever got used to being in a car seat but, she will stomach it for a while.

And finally, she got another tooth.  That makes 3!

We love out little bug more and more every day.

Happy 2nd Birthday to Our Baby!

From baby to toddler went by waaaayyy too fast.  Like a blink of the eye, our little baby princess is a little toddler.  And she is so darn...
